The girls totally made us laugh this evening.  David mowed/edged the front yard.  When he was done he swept up the grass on the sidewalk into a pile.  He asked Layla to get the dust pan when he got the broom.  He pointed to it and said get the blue one.  When Layla got to the end of the driveway she was carrying the blue one.  However it was the round top to  a shape sorter.  They started scooping up the grass and putting in there and then throwing it in the trash.  I could not stop laughing.  They would even take a handful and even if standing over the trash would wait to put it in the bowl then throw it away.  I wish I had taken pictures.

We have a busy day today.  We have two birthday parties.  One kid friendly and one not.  We are going to a bounce place for a 4 year old's party this morning and then adults only party for my sister this evening.  Babysitter and mommy and daddy night out here we come.  And of course in between we have to go to the grocery store and I need to make cupcakes.  Tomorrow the girls and I are going to the Ranger game with my family for Jaime's birthday which is what the cupcakes are for.  David is going to his football draft and will not be joining us in the heat.

So as I was thinking about this I realized I should have done this three years ago.  Why three years ago?  Because that's when I found out that my dream of having a family became a reality.

I have been married to the most wonderful man, David, for the last 9 years.  We tried for several years to start a family and went through three rounds of in-vitro to have children.  On the third round in 2009 we became pregnant with twins.  Thirty-seven weeks later we delivered our two beautiful daughters Layla Rose and Alyssa Jane.  I can tell you that some times have been difficult but it is the greatest experience of my life.  While pregnant I finished getting certified as an elementary school teacher.  I subbed for two years at a wonderful school in Wylie,  Mostly in third grade with some fabulous women that I am very good friends with.

I also joined a mom's of multiples group while I was pregnant and am involved with them.  The girls have several friends their same age that are also twins we have play dates with.

Currently I am not working.  Since I was unable to get a full time teaching job we decided it would be best and money saving for me to stay home and not substitute.  As it stands the girls will be going to pre-school two days a week from 9:15 - 1:45 and with me the rest of the time.  This will give me a chance to run non-kid friendly errands or schedule Dr.'s appointments.

The girls are now 2 1/2 years old and growing like weeds.  They say and do new things every day that surprise and amaze me.  Which is why I wanted to start this blog.  That way not only can others share in my fun but so I have a written record I can look back on.
